Club Announcements
T-Shirt Reminder!
We have plenty of T-Shirts left to sell! Come and buy this year's fashionable t-shirts in Mr. Lawhorn's room! The prices are now only $10!
Disabilities Dance!
Those still interested in volunteering at the annual disabilities dance can go see Mrs. Baun! This year the dance will be put on by the baseball team, peer leadership, and HSA. The dance will take place from 5- 9:30 on February 25th. It is completely free, and dinner will be served to all who attend!
Upcoming Guest Speakers!
It's been a while since we've had guest speakers come to talk to the Health Science Academy, but we have some really great speakers coming soon! Hearing about what the speakers have to say is an excellent opportunity, even if you are not planning on going into their career. We urge you to come listen, and you may even realize you're interested in what their job has to offer! The following careers will be speaking soon:
  • A Male Prison Nurse who takes care of inmates
  • A Forensics college professor
  • Members from Great Western College speaking about technology and its effects on health

HSA Fundraiser!!!
This will be the only fundraiser we'll be doing this year, so we ask that you PLEASE take part and help your academy! Fund-raising will allow the academy to continue taking part in activities and going on field trips like we have in past years. Letters have been sent home titled "Husky Healers Fundraiser Address List." (if you didn't get one please see Mr. Lawhorn) The Fundraiser Address List contains space for you to fill out the name, address, and zip code of a family member or friend that you think may be willing to help donate to help your academy. This fundraiser is extremely easy, so just take a few minutes to fill it out and return it to Mr. Lawhorn! The top five fundraisers in each class will receive an HSA sweatshirt! (Donations must exceed $100 for sweatshirt eligibility) Remember, by benefitting the academy, you'll be benefitting yourself!
Special Ed Dance!
Anyone interested in volunteering to help at the Special Ed dance please go see Mrs. Baun!
Guest Speakers Needed!!!
Do you know anyone that has a profession in the medical field? If so, please ask them to be a guest speaker for HSA! We're in great need of guest speakers this year, and guest speakers pose as a great opportunity for students to learn about the vast variety of careers available for them in the future!
Club Dues
Club Dues are not mandatory for the 2011-2012 school year. However, in order to provide for the academy and continue doing the fun activities (field trips, luncheons, guest speakers, etc.) we've had in previous years, donations would be greatly appreciated.
Just a reminder!
Students and parents! PLEASE join the HSA site! All information regarding the Health Science Academy and club will be posted throughout the school year. Keep up to date with all information, important events, volunteer opportunities, fundraisers, etc.
CVMC Internships!
Juniors and seniors! If you're interested in applying for an internship please see Mrs. Bekins in the counseling office to pick up an application.

You MUST be at least 16 to fill out an application!
